Dog Cancer Calendar for 2005 Available Soon

Wednesday, December 01, 2004

Amber with her dog LucyA 2005 calendar depicting photos and stories of dogs that fought cancer will be available for sale in the first or second week of this month.

The calendar is the creation of Amber Hollers, who learned last June that her dog Lucy was diagnosed with canine osteosarcoma (bone cancer). When she communicated with other people who had dogs stricken with cancer, and learned of their stories, she was inspired to create the calendar as a way of memorializing those animals.

"I decided the calendar should feature both photos and stories of dogs who are either battling cancer at the moment, or who have unfortunately lost their battle" says Amber Hollers. "I also wanted the calendar to have an inspirational and educational focus, featuring food for thought in the way of preventative care and facts on canine cancer."

The calendars are $12.00 each, and can be ordered from its website at: http://www.helpingpawsfordogswithcancer.org/.

A part of the proceeds will be donated to The Magic Bullet Fund, a charity that provides funds to treat pets with cancer. Proceeds will also go towards helping Lucy continue with her treatment.

  • I think that's a great idea to create a calendar . It really awakes awareness about a problem that gets little to no attention in the press/public. Animals are our best friends and we should be theirs. :-)

  • I am writing this for the pets out there, its funny how "great"marketing can manipulate the consumer out there in believing that by using their product it can actually save your pet's lives, but what good is it if the backbone of the process is not really there? I recommend as soon as you leave your vet, call to confirm if your pet is registered or not.
