Pennsylvania Dog Licenses for 2005 Available

Monday, December 06, 2004

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture announced today that dog licenses for Year 2005 go on sale this week.

Licenses are required for all dogs more than three months old. If the animal is spayed or neutered, the license is $6. If they are not, the license is $8. Lifetime licenses may be purchased as well. Depending on whether the pet has been spayed or neutered, the price could be either $31 or $51. Senior citizens and persons with disabilities pay a reduced license fee.

Dog owners may apply by using one of the following methods:

  • Download the Dog License Application (PDF) form from the Agriculture site (http://www.agriculture.state.pa.us), print, sign and mail it along with a check or money order to your county treasurer.

  • Visit your county treasurer's office to file an application.

  • Ask your county treasurer's office for a list of agents who sell licenses throughout the state.
