Until he put her on her back and rubbed her tummy and I caught him carefully examining her dog tags, which bears my address and phone number. Great. My imagination immediatly jumped ahead as I watched him break into the house to wait until unassuming Jen walked through the door. While nothing came of this, you might want to be aware that when strangers ask to pet your dog bad stuff might happen.
my dog wears all her id tags al the time. even one with my phone number and address. But her tags aren't just hanging open on her collar. they are in a Quiet Spot Neoprene Tag holder to keep them from jingling, rubbing against each other, and staining her coat. Guess you could also add the Quiet spot keeps people from just peeking at her information when they really don't need it.

When I got my first dog, the vet suggested not putting the dogs name on the tag because someone could read it and befriend the dog. I now have two dogs and the only thing on their tags is "If found please call" and my cell number. No dog name, no address. Just call me. I never understand why people feel it is necessary to put all their personal info on the tag. Why not add your social security number while you are at it.
