"Pit bulls are inherently dangerous, and that no matter what the nurture, they pose too great a risk to public safety. Less pit bull attacks means less people victimized by pit bulls. That is effective," Bryant countered.Other lawmakers made the point that pit bulls are not the only breed considered to be dangerous, and that banning only pit bulls won't go far enough:
The Progressive Conservatives and New Democrats both insist that a breed-specific ban will not work and will not address the problem of irresponsible dog owners.
The opposition parties called on Mr. Bryant to amend the legislation to address all dangerous dogs.
So, what's next? English Springer Spaniels, Plotthounds, Dogo Argentinos? This man is a hysteric, and doesn't have a clue as to what would really help avoid dog attacks. The law should not ban breeds. Rather, it should mandate spay/neuter for non-show quality dogs, and require obedience classes!

I have read the Hansard reports of the first two days of hearings. Not one organization was in favor of this Bill. Hansard has not yet been published for the 2nd or the 3rd, but I'm sure once we do read them, we will see once again the opposition to this Bill. The liberal government continues to lie to the people and responsible owners of bully breeds will suffer.

What a....incredibly stupid man. If he wanted to get rid of pit bull attack problems, he'd do a Hitler move against the human race and obliterate them/us. The problem--like so many other people have discovered--is/are owners who don't know how to handle the breed or, quite possibly, any other dog breed. All animals only attack for a reason--snakes attack when threatened, birds attack when they are protecting their eggs, hamsters bite when they're scared...and pit bulls? There are numerous reasons. This uneducated man took the easiest and most injust course of action--I pity him for his poor decision that will gain him many enemies.
