Appearance is important to Shawna Johnson. She had testicular implants put into her dog, Toby, when he was neutered, "I wanted, I wanted the appearance of a natural, intact dog."I then found another website that focuses on Neuticles, and went on to say that over 60,000 animals have been "neuticled" since 1995:
Dr. Jack Mannix performed Toby's procedure. He admits there may not be a medical benefit, but says there is a plus, "If you're more proud of your dog as you walk him and because he looks more normal to you, then I think it's a psychological benefit to the animal."
"We've even Neuticled a prairie dog in Kansas, two water buffalo in Colorado and a colony of rats in Louisiana," Miller said. "The first monkey is in two weeks and we're excited to help even monkey's 'look and feel' the same." .Wait a minute, did they say they neuticled a whole colony of rats?
Steve- you are way to funny
And I think I have better things to do with my money then get implants for my dogs , so he can "FEEL LIKE MAN" ROFLMAO-
Besides 95% of the time he faces me,the rest of the time he fetch a ball... no pun intended.

Gina over at Dogma blogged about the same subject this morning, after having found another article on MSNBC. Seems like this sort of thing is in the news recently.

I am not so sure about the testicular implants for dogs. We humans have already done enough damage to the animal world to satisfy our needs. I think it's annoying that pet owners are doing this so that they would feel better? Has anyone thought of side effects that animals may not be able to communicate to their owners? Animals are not asking us to get implants so that they are prous to be with us... it's ridiculous and should be treated as animal cruelty. I am forwarding this article to PETA.

I just loaded my dogs empty punching bag with a wonderful set of nads 4 months ago. They are so cool and they dont get in his way or anything. I believe that a dog should be intact or at least look that way. I would just crenged everytime the dog would stare at his empty defeted sack, all the time wondering where his 2 friends had gone. The dog is a large 1 year old adopted, fixed Doberman. Now he just loves them and likes to show them off when we take him for a walk.
