...she left Hank in her car for two hours and 25 minutes, and a Department of Agriculture animal protection inspector measured the temperature inside the car at 103 degrees. Siems, 42, wishes she had left Hank at home. She contends, though, that Hank was not in danger. She left the windows rolled halfway down, left him with water, and periodically returned to check on him and run the air conditioner, she said.So if she was checking up on the dog periodically, leaving him with water, and running the air conditioning, then it clearly was intentional. I'm not suggesting she meant harm, I'm suggesting that she planned it out.
According to one report "Siems left the dog in the car because she thought the meeting would be in a restaurant, not in a meeting room." I'm not sure if that meant the dog would have been allowed in the restaurant but not the meeting room so she was stuck or what. But it seems to me she should have made other arrangements immediately upon finding that she would have to leave the dog in the car. Shame on her. Thank goodness the dog is okay.

Steve,
We all do mistakes... she did what she could to make sure that the dog was getting water and air. There is no reason to say" it was intentional" it sounds like you are someone who knows it all and you are not! There are lot of people who take their dogs with them wherever they go, I think we are streching this specifc issue a bit more.

OH GOD NO! Don't Jail an animal rescuer! We all know there above the law! Oh yea and they all walk on water too! I hope she rots in jail! I'm so sick and tired of everyone thinking that these animal rescue people are so much better than everyone else. If I work with abused children is it ok for me to abuse children too? Get a grip Paula!

Question? Is it ok to allow the dog to stay in the car in cool weather. say in the 55 - 60 range?
