That's something I've been grappling with since I launched DoggieNews. Our city, county, and state governments seem to be ablaze with dog legislation designed to limit the rights of dog owners. Moreover, elected officials seem more eager to solve problems by limiting everyone's freedoms, rather than going after the bad guys.

And animal rights activists are equally seeking to trample on the rights of dog owners too. If think a dog owner isn't treating their dog well enough, they push for laws that allow officials to seize their animals. Case in point, last January the City of San Francisco adopted a law that allows them to seize your dog if you're not using the right kind of water bowl!

The way I look at it, dogs need people, and people love dogs. The two ought to get together. Our country should encourage this relationship, and reward responsible ownership. Don't punish everyone because of a few bad apples. Get rid of the bad apples!
