Anyone remember back in the 1970's seeing those commercials for "Shrinky Dinks"? Those things you colored up, put into the oven, and they shrunk up into glossy colorful art?
FasTagsĀ® are actually made of a special heavy-weight plastic material that is custom produced just for their products. The heat shrink plastic available at some craft stores was much too light to make into a durable tag. Each tag comes with a brass eyelet already in place, that was designed to minimize buckling of the plastic when it shrinks, as well as a laminate that helps protect the writing on the tag. It may seem similar to the old Shrinky Dink product, but there are actually major differences.

I have to say that I bought this for my puppy at a local pet shop and really like the way it came out.

The idea is a complete copy of what Shrinky Dinks has been doing for lots of years... I used to make them for my kitty when I was a child...I'm 30 now. The plastic is NO different in thickness. The only difference is the sticky uncooperateive jelly like sticker you need to put in place to keep it from becoming faded. I still make my kitty tags from Shrinky Dinks plastic, because I don't want to be stuck with someone eles's design. Shrinky Dinks ROCK!!!
