eBay is thinking of allowing people to sell live animals on its website. They've started a forum to gather public opinion. We are hoping to launch a Live Pets Classified Format early next year. The listings would not be transactional and there would only be a listing fee. We are also looking into allowing non-profit animal shelters to list animals for adoption for free.
I would love to know what our active community members think about this new category. We are also considering Pet Services in this format as well - grooming, walking, etc..
Even though I'm a free enterprise advocate, I hope eBay gives some pet selling and buying guidelines on their site. If I knew how to contact them, I'd do it.

Please reconsider selling dogs on eBay. With animal shelters full of adoptable animals every day, thus killing animals daily to make room for more, this would be another avenue for people to make a profit "pimping" animals for sale. It is definitely a step backwards for those of us who are working tirelessly to end pet overpopulation. If you would like to help animals find homes, your thoughts of hosting shelters and 501C3 rescues is a good one. PLEASE-no individuals selling animals.
