  • I don't have that much insurance on my automobile.

  • A persons life is worth more than any car. Anyways, I think this is a good idea. It would make animal owners more responsible for their pets. I think it helps to weed out all the people that should not own a pet like back yard breeders and people that can't afford to take care of themselves let alone an animal. And if you can't afford the insurance then you probably can't afford to care for your pet properly for its entire life. Costs from food and vet bills add up to a lot for a dogs whole life.

  • On the contrary, it is a backdoor plan to ban more dog breeds, will make it impossible for the average Joe to own a dog, and since insurance companies are risk averse it will have many other unintended consequences. It won't make anyone a more responsible dog owner. The losers will still be losers, regardless of how many dog laws you pass.
