Rottweiler Starts Apartment Fire

RottweilerThe Associated Press reports that a fire which scorched an apartment building was started by a couple's Rottweiler.

They were not at home at the time, but the Rottweiler was. They had left presents sitting on top of the oven. The curious dog apparently nudged the oven knob and set the gifts on fire.

Another lesson learned.

  • 1. What was in the presents? Something that smelled like food? Have the owners trained their dog to not jump up on furniture, etc. Of course, who left the presents on the stove. It's easy to blame someone else for our stupidity.

  • Dogs get blamed for everything, especially dogs who are supposedly "mean." You never hear of a Pomeranian doing anything wrong. I want to know how a dog "nudged" the stove and it lit. I thought you had to push in and turn in order for it to light?
