Dog tags have now gone high tech with the introduction of Top Tag Pet ID.
Good new idea.

They need something like this for smaller dogs, though - this is far too large for some of the toy breeds.

I will wait for the MicroID Collar to come out.

Actually, those look just like the mini flash drives used for storing tones of info on such a tiny piece of hardware.
It's a great idea and I think it's still worth putting it on any size dog, large or small. They are lightweight, so that should be a problem for the smaller breeds.
It might look silly, but whats more important? Your dog looking a little silly or a lost dog that can potantially get hurt with no ID?
I've worked with animals in pet stores and a grooming shop. The regular pet tags you can get made at a pet shop get scratched easily, making it hard to read the information on the tag.
Thumbs up to this!

News your dog would want to know about, pet legislation, new pet products, and weird stuff.
