Waterbed for your Dog

Cool Bed IIThe "Cool Bed II" is a waterbed for dogs.

It's actually been around for awhile, but the manufacturer, K&H Manufacturing, claims to have made improvements to it, hence the "II" after the product name.

The improvement is that they added "channels" to the interior of the design, allowing the liquid to squirt around the inside, spreading the body-warmed water to cooler areas of the mattress.

If placed in the shade, it sounds like a great way for outdoor dogs to stay a little cooler during warm days.

If you live in the South-West, it's been pretty warm for February.

  • My wife and I bought one of these for our new dog (we'd had a similar one from a different manufacturer for a previous dog and he'd loved it). Unfortunately, this one is made of very thin vinyl and our new dog is a chewer and had chewed holes through it twice already. That makes it kind of useless for us. I'd like to think that she wouldn't be able to chew through the kind we used to have as its vinyl was much thicker but I can't be 100% sure on that as she's pretty adept at destroying toys of all kinds, too. If your dog's a chewer, I can't recommend this bed. If your dog is NOT a chewer, this kind of thing is absolutely great for cooling down hot dogs.
