Tripe is an excellent supplement to any dog diet. Dogs are carnivores, and thus, body consumers. If you fed a dog pure muscle meat as a diet, they would starve to death as a result of malnutrition. If, however, you fed a dog a ground up whole deer (which would include the intestines and pre-digested plant material in them = tripe), the dog would be 100% healthy and the diet would be 100% balanced nutritionally.
I feed green tripe, and recommend it to other dog owners. I have usually used green beef or lamb tripe. Venison tripe would also be excellent.

tripe is an excellent food for dogs and you can't beat the fatty acid profile. Another plus is the fact that there are enzymes in tripe that you doggie will never get the likes of in dry kibble so if he's really your baby you might want to think again. People in Europe who have beautiful dogs with beautiful coats feed tripe all the time....read up on it!

Apparently the people who think that this is disgusting are in denial that their "babies" are carnivores. I am sad to hear that people are closed minded to that fact. Just look at your dogs teeth-they are designed to tear up flesh not chew grains. Tripe is an excellent supplement to your "babies" diet.

In reality dogs are omnivores. but hey I would give my dog that, if I ever have one. Back then before dog food people used to give their dogs that stuff. and if watch sled dogs guess what they fed the dogs with. This way it ends happily both ways. See, butcher is not wasting the leftovers instead giving it to the dogs to eat. see... nothing's wasted.
After all I've seen People of my asian race eat raw cow meat.
