One would think. Considering Barbaro, the racehorse, is facing life-threatening injuries and has a good possibility of dying, his owners are footing nearly $100,000 in medical expenses and rehab for him. The horse is worth $30 million but they could've just put him down on the track and not had to deal with it.
I know if I had anything that could be saved, I would surely pay whatever expense to keep them going (however, if they would be in pain for day to months, I might consider putting them out of their misery).

I think if this man really did love his dog, like he says,he would've done something, anything,to save him.Unless the dog was suffering too much,or had a serious problem, he shouldn't have euthanized him.

I know Ray Weaver in person. My husband used to do business with him. He is a really nice and kind person. There's NO WAY he could intentionally hurt any animals.
It was accident not animal abuse. What he did was, when he noticed he hit something, instead of stopping the truck, he backed up to see what it was. That made him runover this dog twice.
Since it was public road and also he knew he did NOT intentionally hurt the dog, he didn't hire lawyer at the beginning.
Because of that he was convicted as animal abuser and then put in jail for 90 days!! Now he is getting sued for 1.6 million.
Ray didn't go to their property to abuse this dog. The dog was out on the street. Doesn't it mean the owners were asking for this accident??
I'm really furious and sad. Because of an accident (it could be YOU or I) a nice hard working person's life is ruined. It's NOT fair.

I'd have to agree if he loved his dog so much why was it out running loose. If he loved the dog he would have saved him if the injuries were not life threatning or severe. If it were my dog I would've done ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING to save him. Ray should not be held fully responsible for this ACCIDENT. If Ray had to pay for anything it should be for him being put down, nothing more.
