Record Your Voice on a Doggie DVD

Wednesday, May 03, 2006

DVD Babysitter For Your DogA company called Long Leash, Inc. announced a new product today that allows you to record your voice on a DVD movie for the purpose of entertaining your dog.

"The Dog Tales" is a DVD containing a special show designed to appeal to dogs. At the beginning of the show, the pet owner can have his or her voice recorded to draw their pooch's attention. The DVD runs on a continuous loop.

DVD purchasers are given an access code with their purchase and directed to call a toll-free number to record the message. The messages can be up to one minute long. The finished DVD is then mailed to the purchaser.

  • If this wasn't used properly, then I think this could stress some dogs out more when you were gone than just leaving them alone. The idea would be to combine such a sound with a calming situation to condition the dog to relax when your voice came on. The usefulness seems to be limited, based upon my experience dealing with stressed out dogs.
