ThermalWear Canine Cooling System

Friday, May 12, 2006

ThermalWear Canine Cooling SystemWhat makes this doggie cooling-vest different from the others is that it doesn't use ice packs or gel packs, but something the manufacturer refers to as a "phase changing substance".

Instead of freezing at 32°F, it freezes at 50°F, meaning you can "recharge" it much more quickly than with ice packs or gel packs.

The company's freezing substance doesn't freeze into a solid, but into something like snow, making it flexible for comfortable wear. It maintains a constant 50°F for two hours or longer, instead of the freezing temperatures that ice-packs and gel packs produce.

The manufacturer, Thermo-Tec, Inc. claims their dog vests have been used professionally by police K9 units and search and rescue dogs.

Available only in large size, you can buy it online for $75.00.
