A company called Moto-Pets Accessories, Inc. makes a pet carrier designed for motorcycles.
I wonder how hot that little box gets in direct sunlight? Once that box gets hot, even with the open sides, it might be lethal. I'd prefer if it had a little pop up umbrella once the motorcycle was parked. You have to figure people will leave the dog in there and walk away for a half hour.

I think it is so stupid to do that. The dog could get hurt.

I guess you have to ask the dog if it's stupid. It's not stupid for a human to ride a motorcycle. You can get hurt driving a car too.
So, if the dog wants to be with its owner, why is it stupid?

Thank you for your comments. Just a couple of points:
We live in Texas, which gets hot and has a lot of sun. The carrier is powder coated - after leaving in the sun for hours, you can put your hand on it without it being more than just warm. We've found that the color does a great job of elminating latent heat and the powder coating has insulating qualities due to it's material properties.
As far as the wisdom of taking a dog on a bike - people have been doing it for years. Now, our carrier offers a safer way to do it. We've had two customers have accidents with their dog in the Road Hound carrier - neither of which caused any harm to the pet although the customer, their bike and the carriers were beat up quite a bit. Contrast to the stories we hear from our customers that had an accident when carrying their pet in a pouch or home made contraption and the evidence is clear.
The dogs absolutely love it. Have a great day.
