An online poll released by DogCatRadio.com, shows more women would rather have a pet than a husband.Of the 103,900 votes cast in a period of seven days, an overwhelming 78% voted for a furry rather than a hairy companion. The poll has a sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points. While it's been said that a dog is "Man's best friend", the radio station says that 87% of its listeners are women between the ages of 23-49.
Maybe that's a good thing... maybe we're all dogs... hehehehehehe... sorry. Just had to say that.

My dog is less critical, far more polite, less demanding, and far more loving.

I agree,I would most of the time rather be with my dogs than my husband. My dogs love me always no matter what mood I'm in and are always happy to see me,I can't say the same for my husband.

All I can say is AMEN!!! My dog has brought my daughter and myself more love, laughs and companionship than EITHER of my two (X) husbands had combined! I'll keep it that way. :)

Hey,
I'm happy for two reasons.
1. It's True!
2. They use a rottweiler in the pic
Rottweilers are known to be the devils dog I have had three rottweiler dogs in my lifetime of 14 years!! I know Im young but oh well , and i've come to know that the owner makes the dog aggresive and gives the dog's breed a bad reputation . All my dogs have been fantastic and never atttacked a soul .But people still give us a wide birth and then get bit by a small jack russell ! . Thanks for reading!.
My youngest rottweiler is form the breeder Rojaneva and i am showing next week !

I agree. My wife comes home and dotes all over the dog and totally ignores me. Sometimes I think she must be talking to me, when she's talking to the dog instead. Glad I'm still allowed to sleep indoors...

Surely that doesn't surprise anyone!!

I agree 100%. My dog has taught me how to love unconditionally, to have more patience and tolerance. I am a much better person since becoming a dog parent 6 years ago. I have been a wife for 15, but that time is no where near as productive. BTW my personal income has nearly tripled in those 6 years also- I wonder if any studies have been done on that!

that is a demeaning thing to say.aman is not a dog. nore should a woman even think that way/or say it. I know that all the 60 years may husband was there for me.It was not all a bed of roses.there was hills and vallys we went through. But in the ways of life thats it.Frist of all whats wrong today women do'nt want to be women. they are all into what they think. whats between a man and a woman is they want what i want.ppl dont listen no more. but in the end it doesn't matter to much because when the end comes all we want someone just to know we've been loved. ppl need to try to take life for what it really is???

That's actually slightly sad... the fact that people love dogs more than other humans... I just actually hope that poll was biased

I totally agree! My dogs (all 5 of them) are always there for me. I know what they expect from me and their love is unconditional whether I have met those expectations or not! Much less stress having a dog than having a husband.

unconditional love from a dog...I guess food isn't a condition?
It is sad that both women and men can talk to their dogs while treating their mates like dogs.

Dogs are looking out for dogs. Pet ME, feed ME, walk ME, give ME (fill in the blank), etc. Even when they are "giving", i.e. licking or nuzzling it's mostly because they want something. Much is said about the "unconditional love" that dogs give. The reality is that dogs are not capable of that depth of emotional. They are animals not humans and are simply after having their wants and needs met. True unconditional love is found through self-examination and acceptance of what is found. Not, in most cases, from another human and certainly not from any animal.

Are we speaking of a partnership, relationship, and communication here? If that is defective, why not be frank and say: "We failed but I need those aspects of a human relationship that are missing and pets can give them to me". .. I see no problem in liking animals but I feel there is something pathological in loving them like (or even more than) humans.

Women want to control men. When men do not listen, they control dogs.

I'm a guy and I prefer my dog over women. Much more affectionate and no nagging.
