And how many of these have a genetic component? Breeding affects these types of conditions. Some breeds are seriously afflicted with ear and skin allergies, such as cocker spaniels. Three quarters of these Top 10 afflictions can probably be traced to genetics.
All the more reason to do a good job of breeding and purchasing / adopting, eh?

I believe that expressing of the anal gland should be there with vet visits at least twice a year. Our dogs go for that reason that many times. Skooting of their butts or rubbing up against things is a sure sign that they need help. This sounds ickky and it is, however it needs attention or the gland can become impacted and that is a problem.
