Diaper Harness for Doggies

Thursday, November 16, 2006

Doggie Diaper HarnessThe STA-ON diaper harness is used to keep diapers on dogs, whether young puppies, untrained adult dogs, or elderly incontinent dogs.

The idea is the invention of Dorrie Krenkel, who grew tired of diapers that kept falling off of her dachshund, Bucky.

The harness is intended to work with babies' diapers (you just poke a hole to pull the tail through), and you can get the harness in a variety of colors. They sell for $12.95 for the smallest size to $16.95 for the largest.

I suppose you might also need to get some "puppy powder" to prevent against diaper rash.

  • Why not just house train the dog?

I see all these silly gadgets on a regular basis... and they fail over and over again. They don't teach the dog a different behavior.

On the other hand, I can see legitimate medical reasons for such a diaper.

But, I think it inhumane to use this in place of proper training of a healthy dog. You are just being a lazy sluggard if you do this instead of paying the money to learn how to house train your dog properly.

Just look at that picture in the article. A dog ISN'T a baby. Geez.

  • I CAN SEE BENIFITS OF THIS HARNESS, YOU CAN TRAIN YOUR PUPPY OR DOG BUT SOMETIMES THATS NOT ENOUGH. LIKE LONG CAR TRIPS WITH FEW REST STOP AREAS.ALSO THE BIGGEST BENIFITS I THINK WOULD BE FOR YOUR FEMALE WHEN SHE'S IN HEAT AND YOU DO NOT WANT HER SPAYED YET. I JUST WONDER IF IT COULD BE SECURE ENOUGH IF YOU ALSO HAVE A MALE DOG IN THE HOUSE. I'VE IMPROVISED MY OWN CHASTITY OUTFIT FOR MY LITTLE GIRL AND I JUST LET THEM OUTSIDE TO POTTY ONE AT A TIME. A LITTLE HASSLE BUT WORKS. I CAN'T WORK SO I BREED MY PUPS BUT NOT EVERY YEAR.I HAVE FIVE TACO-BELL DOGS, 3 FEMALE/ONE SPAYED/2 MALE ONE ONLY FIVE MONTHS OLD, THEY ARE OUR KIDS AND ALL HAVE A UNIQUE PERSONALITY . THEY ARE GREAT FRIENDS AND WE LOVE THEM VERY MUCH.PAULA HIX; SOUTH CAROLINA

  • If you haven't even attemped to housebreak him/her you shouldn't have custody of him. On the the other hand if you have tried and failed this the route to take!
