Man Bakes Puppy In Oven

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

The Daily Herald out of Salt Lake City, UT reports that a man named Marc Vincent was sentenced to six months in jail for baking his puppy in an oven.

The dog was in the oven for 5 minutes at 200 degrees temperature. It suffered severe burns and singed paws. And there's more...
Vincent also was accused in a separate incident of chasing and cornering the dog with a leaf blower, damaging the dog's eye. The eye eventually had to be removed by a veterinarian.
With an obviously sick and vicious mind like his, you wonder if six months in jail will ever really teach him to stop.

In other blogs, I've questioned why our justice system doesn't distinguish crimes based on sick and rotted minds, as opposed to insubordinate behavior. People with minds like Marc Vincent's are damaged beyond repair. Being that government holds custody of Marc Vincent, they therefore hold responsibility to make sure he's totally safe for public release. Can six months in jail correct that?

  • that is the most sickest thing to do we should put him in the oven then let him stay in jail for the rest of his life

  • Unfortunately in this case, animals are viewed as property and the punishment will never match the crime.

This wackjob's behavior will likely escalate to the point of hurting humans and hopefully a judge will factor in his animal offenses and give the maximum penalty then.

Persoanlly, I would give this guy a beatdown in the middle of the night.

  • I don't see what being property has to do with it - you can have strong protective laws with dogs as property, or weak laws with dogs as property.

    It's a bogus red herring.

Given that most of the arguments for dogs not being property have centered on being able to sue your vet for more money and being able to fight over who owns the dog in a custody battle, I doubt the dog will get much benefit.

  • I wish that society would PUNISH people who abuse animals the same way that they do with Humans. I was so appalled that this man only got 6 months for hurting an innocent and defenseless animal. I am a proud owner of 3 dogs, ranging in size and age. And I treat them like they are my children. Justice needs to be done for this puppy and I hope that after people voice their opinions that the judge will change his/her mind and give this man a stronger punishment. It's too bad that we couldn't put him in the oven, then he in his sick twisted mind could see how it feels.

  • I just couldn't believe this article on baking a dog in a oven. What could cause a person to hurt an animal like that. I think this man needs professional help, because he is mentally sick. No one in there right mine could do this to a animal or human. Sonething in his life has caused him to have a mean spirit. I hope that some how he gets help and when he does he will have to live with this terrible act for the rest of his life, which he should. Again what is happening to people in this world that they can be so mean and cruel. God help us all. He is our only source of help to try and help each other and our animal families. When man becomes mean and harmful they are worst than animals, because they were born with understanding and are to be a help to all mankind and animals not against them. Thank you for this time to express myself. I hope in some way it may help people to be kind to our loving animals and maybe to each other also.

  • WHEN are they going to make animal cruelty a felony?

  • NO NO NO!!! 6 months is NOT acceptable. He hurt a LIVING thing. Something that breaths and feel just like us humans. Why would this CRIME be any different. What if it was a person/child? No matter how a person looks at it, its attempted murder. He is sick and could have easly done it to a human.

  • 6 MONTHS! COME ON LOOK AT WHAT HE DID..WHAT KIND OF SICK PERSON WOULD DO SOMETHING SO MEAN TO A PRECIOUS ANIMAL..I BELIEVE THAT HE NEEDS TO SPEND MORE TIME BEHIND BARS CAUSE WHOS TO SAY THAT HE WON'T HURT A HUMAN NEXT TIME..THINK ABOUT THAT ONE!!
