7 Foot Dog Bed

Tuesday, March 20, 2007

This is a really big dog bed. It's huge. Usually, it's hard to find a good quality dog bed for a great dane or any other huge breed, but this one should be big enough for any beast.

It comes in several sizes, but the "Giant" size measures 84 inches long, 48 inches wide, and is filled with 8 inches of SuperSupport® orthopedic foam. It's also got a raised headrest on the top end of the bed. Comes in 9 different colors.

Prices start at $139.95 for the Small size, and go up to $399.95 for the Giant size. Shipping is free.

It's called the Giant Orthopedic Bed with Headrest, available at Oh My Dog Supplies, which carries a large assortment of dog beds.

  • This is nice, but if you need something this big, you might as well just buy a futon or conventional mattress. Not only will it probably be cheaper, but by having a standard size, it's easy to get sheets in whatever color you want, as well as plastic mattress covers (very helpful for old dogs with incontinence problems).

  • Big dogs need big beds. I have seen Mastiffs, for example, get those huge and ugly sores on their elbows from lying on hard floors.

  • We have a chewing dog and have gone through several very expensive beds. We finally found a website that sells a huge selection of dog beds. They have from orthopedic beds, which our dog chew up, and we ended up getting a bed by Caddis. It was a good price and has seemed to hold up very nicely. I guess we'll wait to see if this one will last.

  • These look nice, but there is no difference between this polyfilled pet bed and any other of lesser size. I found a memory foam pet bed for my Mastiff through Orange County K9. OCK9's memory foam pet beds are the same size as most human beds so it is easier to get covers for them if you don't want the standard leather cover that comes with it. These days you want a pet bed that is not only going to fit your big dogs, but you want a durable pet bed that will last you for a very longtime.
Best wishes to all big dog owners.
    Thanks,
    Jackie

  • I love them. The face fabric is nice and soft, the lining could be better, but hey,it's cheap(sale Now) and the dogs don't care as long as they can burrow into softness.

  • Our Vet told us about a company called Bow Wow Beds that makes tough dog bed covers. We bought two of their XXL for OZ our Great Dane last year. We stuffed one with memory foam & the other one with some pillows. Great prices & they last!

  • I bought a Bow Wow bed and it was a total nightmare. The lady you have to deal with doesn't know the meaning of customer satisfaction and doesn't seem to care. Sent me the wrong size TWICE.She then told me she could make me a custom bed, if I send her the measurements, which is what I did in the very first email I sent her. She would not work with me and stuck me with a product I cannot use. I even had to pay shipping to correct HER mistake. I can't say I recommend going there.

  • I also have one of the dog bed covers from Bow Wow Beds that I purchased on Etsy. The owner is one of the most personable people I've come across on the internet so I'm not sure if the poster before has the same company?? We bought the XXL size for our Bull Mastiff around Christmas & he loves it! This one is still going strong & I wash it once a week. If I ever have to buy another dog bed I would shop there again!
