Dog Adoption NetworkThis is a Sponsored Post.

The Dog Adoption Network claims to be a website that teaches the world about the benefits of adopting a dog over buying from the pet store. The person who created the website says they wrote the articles on the website culled from their experience as a dog owner and care provider.

Looking through the website, there is indeed a lot of articles on the subject of adopting a dog. But when you see a website title that includes the word, "Network", you get a sense that its some kind of organization that operates or certifies dog adoption centers.

But it doesn't appear to be that way. It's really just articles that encourage you to adopt a dog.

If you know someone who wants to buy a puppy from the pet store, or from a breeder, then you could send the link to this website to them for their consideration. That might be best way to use this website.

But I also think this website does a pretty good job of leveraging the algorithms of search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN) to attract visitors, and then directing to those visitors to its Google text advertisements. And keyphrases of "dog adoption" and "adopting a dog" are very popular search terms. But I digress...

For what it is, a site that promotes the adoption of unwanted dogs, it's a great site. But content about dog adoption is all over the Internet as it is. I'm not sure if this site is going to do a better job of explaining the concept over the thousands of other articles on other dog websites.

I would like to see a blog on this site that provides weekly articles of tips, news, and commentary on the subject of dog adoption. That would give the site the character of its author, and give it the appearance of being "alive". That will probably achieve its goals far better than what it is right now. But if the author plans to keep the site static in its current state, it'll probably do a better job of making money from Google ads than it will to save dogs from the hypodermic needle.

But the doggie world could always use another champion in the area of dog adoption. Will Dog Adoption Network be such a champion? Maybe time will tell.

  • I was an Adoption Counselor for a year or so at our local humane society. I have been around animals all of my life (53yrs) and know people pretty well too. I loved helping the right person find their forever friend and there is nothing like the happy tail wagging or happy meow and the big smile on the persons' face. Please go to your local animal shelter or humane society, they need you SOOOOOOO MUCH.

  • I enjoyed your review on the dog adoption network. I also would like to see dogs adopted and am trying to educate people BEFORE they decide to adopt the newest designer mutt.

My goal is to help reduce the number of dog destroyed every year by educating potential dog parents early.
