Dog Walking Banned by Islam?

Friday, October 05, 2007

Apparently, a mosque in Toronto, Ontario is telling its congregation to cease several activities common in North America, among them is dog walking...
A Toronto mosque is telling Muslims not to say "Happy Thanksgiving" or invite friends into their homes for turkey dinner on the holiday weekend... Also banned, it says, are: watching sports or soap operas, walking dogs, family photos, wedding bands, Western hats, mingling and shaking hands with the opposite sex.
If that's the case, then we're in for a real social war here on our side of the globe. A lot of Americans are already taking an "anti-Christian" stance citing the argument of "separation of church and state". Wait'll Islam becomes more established here in America, then we'll have Christians, Muslims, and Atheists, fighting over what the laws should be.

  • I couldn't agree with you more Steve. If they don't like the way we live then they can pack their things up and go back on the next cargo ship!

  • I agree with the first poster - you don't like it here go home and change things there! When will we finally have enough of all these people coming here and trying to change us?

    .............................
    two things:
One, separation of church and state only means the "state" cannot dictate which religion you shall/shall not practice,Or allow religion to influence legislation.
Two,religions should not become ESTABLISHED here. You decide which belief system you wish to follow.
But by no means should you PUSH(or establish)it on others. I'm fine with the islamics/muslims/others not saying merry christmas, or thanksgiving, but to hell with them if they try to stop me from walking my dog!
Heck, I'll get a PIG to walk just to show them this country is about FREEDOM.
To any Islamics : I'm offended by the way you treat your livestock better than your women. I want you to change your society to treat women better! (I can hear they cries of anger already!)

  • The City of Detroit, MI, for example, has one of the largest muslim populations in the USA. What if the muslim population grew so large there, that they won the majority of seats on the City Council? They could actually adopt a total ban on dog walking, as well as a ban on on dogs in public areas.

Think about gay marriage for example. The reason why it is still illegal in most states is because of this country's Christian roots. But it is only because liberals have infiltrated our legislatures that gay marriage is becoming legal.

My point is that it doesn't matter if this involves religion. All that it matter is who are the lawmakers in this country.

  • To the person who tried to explain "separation". The huge battles about abortion and gay marriage exist because of the religious beliefs of lawmakers. If that doesn't show that they are mixing church and state, I don't know what does. As far as the Islams go, I have no idea why these people even feel that they should have any say in our country anymore. We should do like Australia and throw them out. ALL OF THEM! This country needs another revolution to take it back. And our borders should have ben shut years ago.

  • Most muslims (misspelled on purpose) are afraid of dogs. They need to take themselves and their beliefs back where they came from

  • I am muslim, was raised in the indian subcontinent. I own a german shepherd, and i take him walking every day. My family loves the dog too - they are always giving him treats. Lot of my neighbors and family back home also had dogs. Just because some random mullah starts blabbing something does not mean every one in that religion gives a damn one way or the other. Would you change your life because a random priest declares something you do wrong? Who cares?

  • I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF PPL THAT R NOT AMERICANS COMING OVER HERE AND THINKING THAT US(BORN AMERICANS) SHOULD CHANGE OUR LAWS AND WAY OF LIFE JUST TO SUIT THEM. LET ME TELL U NON-AMERICANS...GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!! U R NOT WANTED HERE!!!

  • Accursed liberals only use the first part of that declaration. "The state shall not enforce religious practice nor hinder the expression thereof"

They have no right to stop religious practice or force their athiesm on us. Athiesm is just as much a religion as Judeaism, Christianity, or Islam.

  • And as those backward thinking conservatives would say:" let's compromise, and do it MY way."

  • The best solution is to torch the mosque. Burn it too the ground.
Just pass a phony law, like maybe a fire code inspection. Declare the building unsafe, then burn it to the ground. Islam is the most evil religion on earth. Don't be fooled. Burn it.

  • i am shocked and disgusted by the hateful comments here. First of all for the idiots who say this is America go home, the article is about a mosque in CANADA. So to you dumbasses I say go back to school or whatever backwards ass country your people came from and stop mucking up America with your stupidity.
Secondly many muslim people are from America so why should they go anywhere?
Thirdly Christians are constantly trying to push their evil hate filled values on the rest of us, to the Christians I say go back to where YOU came from and leave the peaceful and tolerant people in this country the hell alone.

  • Whilst I agree with the first poster, I would like to add that we dont go to other countries and tell them we dont like there ways ot there laws. We invade and bomb the crap out of them instead and then make up the laws more in tune with our western one. Thats more accurate!

I think this Islamic stance is prehistoric, scholars need to sit and try to figure things out and not be so anal!

  • To all you people who hate us "non-americans," and think that we are defiling your country, just know that for every religion, creed, or race you say you hate "or needs to leave," know that there is someone from that religion, race, or creed serving in the armed forces. I am an American Muslim about to commission in th army as a 2nd Lieutenant and an MP. You want me to leave too? Because there are sure a hell of a lot more important people than you all, who would rather you than me.

-For all our differences, we all still bleed red
