Wegman's, a chain of grocery stores on the East Coast of the USA, restored its brand of wet dog food, made by Menu Foods, to its store shelves. There are very few pet food manufacturers and Menu Foods, a Canadian-owned company, tops the short list. The end of June, our Quality Assurance people went with me and our pet food buyer to their plant in Pennsauken, NJ, to review quality processes. We found a well-maintained, secure plant, with good manufacturing practices. And we worked with them on our requirements to resume Wegmans production.Wegman's goes on to say that Menu Foods no longer gets its wheat gluten from China.
