Sometimes we get the hard job of taking care of someone or something we love dearly.
You have done a wonderful job with Gus and I'm sure he knows you loved him very much. So god bless you and all that you do for the love of animals. I already miss Gus and didnt know him personally. My prayers are with you.

Any dog lover feels the pain of a lost friend even if he was the world's ugliest dog. Gus was the best looking dog in the world to the people who lost him. Rest in peace old buddy.

I'm so sorry you lost your dog. In my opinion there is no such thing as an 'ugly dog'. If you loved him as much as I loved my Joey, you're in for a very rough time. It's been 11 months since he passed on, and while I'm writing this, tears run down my face. I wish you strength...

My most sincere condolences to Gus' family. I truly believe that beauty is much more than external appearance & I am sure that Gus' family only saw his inner glow-that indescribable spark that made him unique & that they loved him more than words can say. This adoptive family are true angels...even using their winnings to try to save him speaks volumes of their devotion & commitment. He is waiting for them @ the Bridge, & is whole, pain free & happy....

Gus was a cute little guy! I fell in love with him the first time that I saw him. I know how heart-broken his human Mom must be over the loss of him. I have two Pugs and two Pug/Boston Terrier mix (Bugs) of my own and my heart will break when one of them crosses over. Rest in Peace little guy, you'll be with your Mom again one day in heaven.

All doggies are beautiful, inside and out. All they want from humans is food, affection and unconditional love! Rest in peace little pup, you were a joy to your people.

I'm glad he does not suffer. The worst part of being a dog lover is that you usually outlive your beloved pet. Rock on Gus!

I am so sorry for your loss. I don't think he was ugly at all he was full of personallity. I have 9 collies and I lost my Sadie a year ago to a spider bite. I know My sadie is watching over him as she did for all who were smaller than herself sitting and playing on the Rainbow bridge waiting for us to come and get them. She was a true Mama Dog. She keep him safe. God Bless the little man. Keep his love in your heart always.

The Rainbow Bridge has one more member. The world shares your grief, though none can truly understand the pain and heartache you feel. I lost one to the same terrible disease and it never gets easier; just easier to live with. May God Bless and Guide You.

LATE AS USUAL IN FINDING OUT. I CRY OVER YOUR LOSS. I SAW THE SHOW FEATURING GUS AND I THOUGHT HE WAS WONDERFUL. THE SAYING "BEAUTY IS IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER." STILL RINGS TRUE WHEN LOVE IS PRESENT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT PETS DON'T GO TO HEAVEN BUT I DO KNOW THAT GOD HAS PROMISED HEAVEN TO BE A PLACE OF BEAUTY,JOY,LOVE, AND NO SORROW. THAT BEING TRUE, I BELIEVE OUR PET CHILDREN WILL BE THERE WAITING TO TO JOIN US AND LOVE US AS ALWAYS. THAT GIVES ME PEACE AND COMFORT AND HOPE IT DOES FOR YOU TOO.

As my tears fall, my heart goes out to you. I too know the heartache, stress and financial burden of caring for a terminally ill dog- But what are you gonna do except love em and take care of em. After all they gave you can't help but hurt and miss them. God bless you and Gus,

I am so sorry for your loss. I can feel the pain also as I have lost not just one but 2 loving dogs in the past. The last on I cared for as you have Gus, and it is so hard to see them go on to heaven. But it is better to see them go to heaven than to watch and see the pain that they are in. God bless.
