Canine and Abled
The story of a woman competing for a spot on the United
States Equestrian Team, becomes disabled, and is promoting
awareness of service dogs.
Aug 20, 2004
Kimberly Carnevale found the courage to live again after
becoming permanently disabled in an accident, through the
unending support of her service dogs.
Shortly after being partnered with her service dog, Kimberly
experienced illegal access denial and rude behavior. She single-handedly
set out to promote awareness and acceptance of service dog
teams through what has become an award-winning motivational
speaking program called, "Canine and Abled".
In her program, Kimberly relates her inspiring story with
the hope that her program will continue to help open doors
for the disabled community as well as instill hope. She teaches
how challenges can prove to be a positive force in our lives,
and that by using adversity to make us stronger, we can find
the champion that lies within us all.
"This journey has been a remarkable one," Ms. Carnevale relates.
"One that I have been blessed to be able to share with two
four-footed angels named Dewey and Dawson."
Kimberly will be making appearances throughout the country
prmoting her new book, "Canine
and Abled--Taking The Dis Out of Disabled", which is an
in-depth look her life from her quest for Olympic gold, her
tragic accident and recovery with Dewey and Dawson, and her
new dream with Canine and Abled.
Dates and times of appearences, as well as booking information
can be found on Kimberly's website: www.canineandabled.com.
