Drea de Matteo Helps Raise Funds for Great Dane Rescue
The star of television shows "Joey" and "The
Sopranos" is helping homeless Great Danes get veterinary
care.
September 11, 2004
Drea de Matteo, former star of "The Sopranos," has been helping
the non-profit Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League (MAGDRL)
via events and interviews. She has helped MAGDRL raise nearly
$9,000.00 to help these abused, neglected, and abandoned "Gentle
Giants" in search of their forever homes. MAGDRL evaluates
and rescues these dogs and places them in foster care until
they can be permanently placed, and pays for their medical
care through donations from the public. De Matteo is an animal
lover who has several pets, and also shares her home with
a Great Dane. Visit www.magdrl.org
for more information on adopting, fostering, or making a donation.
Drea will be starring opposite Matt Le Blanc in "Joey," a
new sitcom which premieres Thursday, Sept 9th at 8 pm on NBC,
and will be seen in Focus Features' "Assault on Precinct 13"
with Ethan Hawke, Maria Bello and Laurence Fishburne.
The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League has been saving
Great Danes one day at a time since 1979. Their areas include
Lower NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, NC, DC and WV. They are one
of the largest independent breed-specific rescues in the United
States. Their Federal Tax ID # is 52-1177018 and hold a 501(c)3
non-profit status.
