Charity Auction Event Raises Over $10,000 for Greyhound
Adoption Efforts
GlobalGreyhounds.com kicks off its Summer Auction Series
and is already off to a fast start.

July 19, 2004
The Summer Auction Series is an annual event hosted by GlobalGreyhounds.com,
an online portal for greyhound enthusiasts. The first stage
of the event is an auction designed as a fundraising effort,
where items are auctioned off, and the proceeds are donated
to greyhound adoption groups.
This year, over $10,000.00 was raised, compared to $7,000.00
last year. Only those adoption groups that have registered
for the event are eligible to receive funds. Donations to
groups ranged from as low as $60.00 each, to some receiving
a hefty sum of $2,343.45.

into loving homes once their racing careers are finished. |
Teddy Palmer of Halfway Home Greyhound Adoption of Oklahoma,
received $517.00 for her group. "What an impact this charity
auction has made. Not only for the money raised for adoption
but the community spirit has been outstanding!"
The newly-formed Greyhound Angels Adoption, Inc. of Cherry
Hill, New Jersey was a recent addition to the list of donor
recipients and received $833.00. Lisa Newbold, the founding
member was pleased with the results. "I would like to thank
all the owners and bidders for their generosity. We are overwhelmed
with the support that we have been receiving."
The auction was held online, on GlobalGreyhounds.com.
The second stage of the Summer Auction Series is a "livestock
auction", where people can bid for greyhounds, including
broods, pups, and racers. This stage begins July 31, 2004,
and is also held online at GlobalGreyhounds.com. Any one may
participate in the auction, but must first register at the
website.
GlobalGreyhounds.com
is owned and operated by GlobalGreyhounds LTD, of Ireland.
James Corbett, its co-founder, said, "The demand for online
auctions has increased ever since our first online auctions
featuring Irish greyhound stock. I think that bidders will
be very pleased with the variety and size of the Summer 2004
Livestock Auction, as our new software has created a very
interactive experience for the sellers and bidders alike.
Our members realize that GlobalGreyhounds.com is the premier
portal for online greyhound sales. With over 5,500 members,
our fan base keeps growing as those who come online don't
want to miss out on the latest buzz within the racing industry."
