Labrador Retriever Drives a Truck
A Black Labrador Retriever accidentally puts a truck in
gear and takes it out for a spin.
September 18, 2004
Perhaps dogs are smarter than most people think. The Associated
Press reported the story of a black Labrador Retriever that
drove a truck down a hill in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
According to the report, the owner of the Labrador Retriever
was in the house watching Team Canada win the World Cup of
Hockey. He had left the dog inside his truck. At some point
in time, the dog must have hit the gear shift and sent the
truck rolling down a hill.
A pedestrian watched the truck roll by and noted seeing a
black Labrador Retriever sitting at the wheel, and contacted
police. The police showed up at the scene to find the truck
parked at an intersection, undamaged, and the dog unhurt.
The Whitehorse Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a news
release: "Subsequent investigation indicates that the dog
was celebrating the Canadian victory in the world hockey game
and knocked the truck into gear, causing it to roll down the
hill."
