Dogs & Dating Fundraiser for Maryland SPCA
Single persons who own dogs or other pets are invited
to meet other dog-loving singles with proceeds going to
the Maryland SPCA
by Steve Johnson, staff
July 6, 2004
Animal Attraction, an organization that matches pet-owning
singles with other pet owners, will be hosting a “Party Like
A Dog” event for Baltimore-area singles (and others who love
pets) and their canine companions. The event will be at the
Wharf Rat at Camden Yards, 206 West Pratt Street in Baltimore,
July 8, 2004, from 6 – 10 p.m. and, of course, dogs are welcome.
100% of all the proceeds will be donated to the Maryland
chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
“We love what Animal Attraction is doing to help bring pet
lovers together for friendship, companionship, dating, or
long-term relationships, and we’re thrilled that 100% of the
proceeds from the event will be donated to our organization
to further our efforts to help pets,” said Elizabeth Johnson
of the Maryland SPCA.
Animal Attraction helps pet-loving singles meet other pet-loving
singles. In its first month, the company has attracted members
in all 50 states. "We’ve all had a friend who thought
they’d met Mr. or Ms. ‘Perfect’ only to have their hopes dashed
upon learning that person didn’t like pets,” says Dan Cohen,
founder of Animal Attraction. The company is the “pet” project
of Cohen, a former executive with the NFL’s Washington Redskins,
the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
