United States Dog Agility Association Presents its World
CYNOSPORT Games
The USDAA will be hosting its World CYNOSPORT Games in
Scottsdale, Arizona, November 11 to 14, 2004.
October 22, 2004
Being the closest thing to the Olympics in the world of dog
sports, United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA) will
present its World CYNOSPORT Games, featuring the best of the
best in dog agility, flying disc, flyball, terrier racing
and dock-diving November 11-14, 2004, at West World in Scottsdale,
Arizona.
The headliner for the World CYNOSPORT Games is USDAA's Grand
Prix of Dog Agility® World Championships and $10,000 Dog
Agility Steeplechase®, wherein competitors across North
America and in Japan and parts of Europe have been campaigning
all year to qualify for these championships.
Top competitors from North America, including former Olympic
Diving Gold Medalist Greg Louganis, who will be competing
with his Jack Russell Terriers, will be seeking to hold off
some tough competition from Russia, Spain and Japan, as well
as other international newcomers. The Grand Prix is in its
17th year and has drawn competitors from more than a dozen
countries on five continents since 2001. USDAA also will hold
its Dog Agility Masters® International Three-Dog Team
Championships as part of the event.
Other popular world canine sports being featured are the
Flying Disc Dogs Open Western Championships, North American
Flyball Association's Duel in the Desert Tournament, the Jack
Russell Terrier Club of America's West World Rally Races &
Go-to-Ground and the Dock Dogs® "Big Air Challenge" competition.
In conjunction with the competitive events, a large trade
fair of some eighty-five vendors will exhibit pet and non-pet
related items for sale to the public, a great "pet-shopping"
opportunity for the holidays. Rescue-A-Golden of Arizona will
operate the "Doggie Do-Right" ring, where the public can bring
their dogs and test their aptitude for the sport of dog agility.
The Games are expected to draw more than 1,000 of the world's
leading competitors from the United States, Japan, South Africa,
Russia, Mexico, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Canada and Spain.
"Consuming an entire polo field, the event has the energy
of top level competition, as well as the feel of a country
fair," says USDAA president Kenneth Tatsch.
The event will run 9:00am to 5:00pm daily, Thursday through
Sunday, with the $10,000 Steeplechase finals on Saturday night
at 7:00pm. Visit http://www.usdaa.com/specialevents
