Dog House Building Contest
Dog House Building Contest
This summer, local builders will compete against each
other to build dog houses for charity.

A Dog House Building Contest at the Marshfield Fair, in Marshfield,
Massachusetts, will help raise funds for the Marshfield Animal
Shelter. local contractors and handymen and handywomen are
urged to contact Marshfield-based Taylor Lumber/ACE Hardware
to participate in the canine cabin competition. The event
will take place on Friday, August 20, 3 -6 p.m.
Six contractors will be given a $200 dollar allowance from
Taylor Lumber/ACE Hardware to purchase materials to build
the dog house of Rover’s dreams. Crews will build the dog
houses near the main stage at the Marshfield Fair and will
be given three hours to complete the best dog house.
The winning dog houses will be voted by Marshfield Fair guests,
prizes will be given to the winners. Categories will include
Most Original, Most Practical, Most Claustrophobic, and Most
Goofy. All of the dog houses will be auctioned off to the
highest bidder. All proceeds will be donated to Marshfield
Animal Shelter.
“This should be a fun event that raises money for a great
cause,” noted Rick Taylor, the third generation of the Taylor
family to manage Taylor Lumber-ACE Hardware. He added, “We
look forward to some very unusual designs.”
