The 2004 Presidential Election Can Be Predicted by Number

Freelance writer and commentator Burt Prelutsky makes
a humorous comparison of cats and dogs like comparing liberals
and conservatives

If Burt Prelutsky's musings are accurate, Senator John F.
Kerry will win the 2004 Presidential Election.
In a recent
article published on WorldNetDaily.com, Prelutsky likens
cat owners with liberals and dog owners with conservatives.
According to formulas provided by the National Council on
Pet Population Study & Policy, and statistics provided
by the U.S. Census Bureau, there are over 62 million dogs
in the United States, compared to over 70 million cats.
"If you want to know who's going to emerge victorious,
all you really need to do is find out how many people have
cats living with them and how many have dogs. The cat people,
I have decided, will go overwhelmingly for Kerry; the dog
lovers will do the same for Bush.", writes Prelutsky.
Prelutsky suggests that the personalities and characteristics
of cats are shared with that of their owners, and the same
of dogs. "Cats speak French." writes Prelutsky,
and further adds, "Dogs speak English, and they're plain
spoken. Cats arch their backs and hiss. Dogs wag their tails
and let you know you've been missed when you've been out of
sight for 30 seconds."
Burt Prelutsky has been a humor columnist for the L.A. Times,
a movie critic for Los Angeles magazine and a freelance writer
for TV Guide, Modern Maturity, the N.Y. Times and Sports Illustrated.
He has also written TV scripts for shows such as "Dragnet,"
"MASH," "Mary Tyler Moore" and "Diagnosis Murder." His most
recent book is "Conservatives Are From Mars, Liberals Are
From San Francisco".
