New Pet Sitting Service in Kansas City Offers Dog Park Activities
K-9 Club will pick up your dog, take him to the dog park
for play, training, and dog treats.
September 12, 2004
When most people leave home to go to work, their dogs usually
prepare for a long day at home. A new pet sitting service
in Kansas City, Missouri plans to break up the monotony by
offering them a day at the dog park.
K-9 Club offers a unique combination of dog walking and doggie
daycare. Like a dog walker, K-9 Club will come to your home
while you are at work and escort your dog to the dog park
for one hour of playtime and socialization with three to five
of his best friends. The workout is comparable to daycare,
but your dog receives more personal attention due to the small
group structure. This service saves you the hassle of rushing
to daycare to pick up your pooch by 5:30 p.m.
Club members will be picked up in a safe, secure, well-ventilated
vehicle and transported to the Penn Valley Off-leash Park.
Once at the park, they will be guided in off-leash play with
their friends. Play time will include: off-leash play with
friends, balls and frisbees for fetching, healthy, tasty treats,
lots of fresh water, and reward-based training of basic obedience
commands - sit, stay, come, off, etc.
Owner and doggie coordinator Amy Bentz and her yellow Lab,
Emma, started K-9 Club to bring some afternoon fun to Kansas
City's dogs. She has raised dogs all her life and accompanied
them through puppy and adult obedience classes.
K-9 Club volunteers for the Humane Society, and it sponsors
semi-monthly park cleanups at the Penn Valley Dog Park. It
is a member of Pet Sitters International and the Kansas City
Chamber of Commerce. It is certified through the American
Red Cross in Pet First Aid and CPR, and it is licensed, bonded,
and insured. Five percent of net profits will be donated to
the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
